“Baba Marta was in a hurry, she tied martenitsas…”
Over the past few weeks we have been busy preparing for one of the best holidays – Baba Marta! During the art workshops of the project “The different care”, we recalled the legends associated with the origin of the martenitsa and made unique ornaments from wool and beads! We talked about why the colors are white and red, why we wear martenitsas and when we take them off, what are the beliefs and wishes of the holiday. Today we decorate ourselves with the red and white threads with a wish for health and well-being throughout the year.
